Datenschutzerklärung
This privacy policy explains, in plain language, how this website handles personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German data protection law.
This is a private, non-commercial hobby website run by a member of the Odia community in Franconia. It is not the website of a registered association (kein eingetragener Verein), and nobody becomes a member by using it.

When you visit, the hosting provider's servers temporarily process technical data such as IP address, date and time, requested page, and browser information, to deliver the site securely. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a stable and secure website).
Hosting provider: Netlify, Inc. and IONOS SE. Hosting providers may process data on servers outside the EU, including in the USA. The safeguards used (for example standard contractual clauses) are described in each provider's own privacy information.
This website sets no advertising cookies and does not load third-party content (such as embedded videos, maps or social feeds) automatically. See the cookie information for details.
Google Analytics (only with your consent). If you click "Yes, that's fine" in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited. Google sets cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) and receives usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, and your IP address, which Google truncates before storage. We do not use Google signals or ad personalisation. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google states that it relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG (consent). Nothing is sent to Google before you accept.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future through "Cookie settings" in the footer. Retention of analytics data is set to the shortest period offered by Google.
If you use a form, we process the details you enter (for example name, email address, message, interests) to answer your request or to keep you informed about community activities. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR, and Art. 6(1)(a) where you give consent. We only ask for what is necessary. Forms are protected against spam by a hidden field, a timing check and rate limiting; no third-party CAPTCHA is used.
Where form entries go. When you send a form, your entry is (1) saved in a database and (2) forwarded by email to the people who run this website (the organisers) through an email delivery service, so that one of them can reply to you. Nobody else has access to the entries, and we do not sell or pass your details on to other third parties beyond the service providers named in this policy.
Database (Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore). We store form entries in Cloud Firestore, a database service provided by Google. The database is located in the European Union. We store the form type, the details you typed, the time you submitted the form and the fact that you agreed to this privacy policy. We do not store your IP address in the database. The website writes to the database from its own server; the database cannot be read from visitors' browsers. Google acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Google may process limited technical data outside the EU, including in the USA, on the basis of the safeguards named in Google's own data processing terms.
Email delivery provider (processor): Resend, when configured — see the site's README for current status.
Retention. Form entries are deleted automatically 24 months after you send them, or earlier on request. We also delete an entry once your request has been handled and we no longer need it.
Joining the community mailing or contact list is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time.
If you sign up for an event or answer a poll on this website, we process your name, your email address, your answer (and, for events, the number of people and an optional note) to organise the event and to count the answers. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR, and Art. 6(1)(a) where you give consent by ticking the box. Sign-ups and answers are stored in the same database as the form entries (see section 4), are visible only to the organisers, and are not shown publicly. We use your email address to recognise a repeated answer: sending the form again with the same address replaces your earlier answer. Sign-ups and poll answers are deleted automatically 24 months after you send them, or earlier on request, and are deleted when an organiser deletes the event or poll.
Photographs of events are published only with the necessary permission of the photographers and, where people are identifiable, of those pictured.
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21), and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Contact us using the details above.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. For private bodies in Bavaria this is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, www.lda.bayern.de.
Links to social media or other websites open the third party's site; their own privacy policies apply from that point.
